Hub Weston CIC
Hub Weston CIC is a not for profit community interest company, responsible for The Stable, The Stable Games Room, Stable Foundations, The Stable Pop Up Shop and Stable Cafe.
The Stable is a community enterprise centre aimed at supporting start up social enterprises and businesses, charities, the VCSE sector, community projects and employability programmes in North Somerset.
We are currently home to Artists and Makers, A large variety of VCSE groups and organisations, Digi Tech Wizards, Film and Media Geeks, Health and Wellbeing Practitioners, Design and Build Engineers, Foodies, Writers, a whole array of excellent Project Managers and a lot of exciting hot deskers, who come and go as they please.
The Stable allows us to develop and subsidies the community projects that we create and support.
Our Vision
Encourage, support and maintain community ideas and initiatives that improve the physical, social and economic infrastructure within Weston-super-Mare and surrounding villages in North Somerset;
People with learning disabilities are able to achieve greater independence, lead fulfilled lives and live as full citizens in society.
To support, champion and promote local independent business;
Provide an opportunity for public-spirited people and organisations to contribute financially to the community, with the expectation of a social dividend, rather than personal financial reward;
Promote access to culture, the creative industries and arts; and
Enable the inclusion of young people and older generations at the centre of community led activities
Impact
Created training and employment opportunities for adults with learning disabilities, health needs, long term unemployed, those with barriers to employment and those aged 16 - 24 years old.
Developed new or existing services to the local community that contribute to the local economy and reduce pressure on statutory services;
Created shared community space. Providing facilities for education, business, VCSE, culture and the arts.
Created opportunities for growth and support to enable business and VCSE leaders to take the next step in their journey.
Provided opportunities that help to improve mental health, quality of life and break cycles of deprivation;
